Bus
To reach the Remutaka Railtrail Summit from Wellington, start by heading to the Wellington Bus Terminal at 81-83 Victoria Street. From there, take the Bus No. 83 towards 'Wairarapa'. The bus will take you through a scenic route, and you should get off at the 'Remutaka Hill' stop. From the bus stop, walk towards the entrance of the Remutaka Forest Park, which is well-marked. The Remutaka Railtrail Summit is a short walk from the entrance.

If you're up for a biking adventure, you can rent a bike from one of the rental shops in Wellington, such as 'Wellington Bike Tours' located on 45-47 Tory Street. Once you have your bike, head towards the Hutt Valley Cycle Path, which connects to the Remutaka Railtrail. Follow the path signs leading to the Remutaka Hill area. It’s a steady ride up, but the views are breathtaking! Make sure to bring water and snacks for the journey.
