Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the central area of Whanganui, start at the Whanganui Riverfront. Head south along the riverbank, passing the Sarjeant Gallery. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Victoria Avenue. Turn left onto Victoria Avenue and walk for approximately 1.5 km until you reach the intersection with Karamu Street. Turn right onto Karamu Street. Continue walking for about 500 meters, and you will see Hussey Reserve on your left at 23 Karamu Street, Tawhero.

    From the Whanganui Bus Station, take Bus Route 2 towards Tawhero. Stay on the bus for about 15 minutes. Get off at the Karamu Street stop. From there, walk north for about 200 meters, and you will find Hussey Reserve at 23 Karamu Street on your right.

    If you're renting a bicycle in Whanganui, start at the Whanganui Riverfront. Cycle south along the river, following the bike path until you reach the intersection with Victoria Avenue.
