Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from downtown Klamath Falls, head northeast on Main St toward OR-39 N. Merge onto OR-39 N and continue to follow it. After approximately 60 miles, merge onto US-97 N toward Bend. Continue on US-97 N for about 70 miles. Take exit 135 for OR-20 E toward Bend. Continue on OR-20 E for about 5 miles until you reach Pilot Butte State Scenic Viewpoint located at 1310 NE Hwy 20, Bend, OR 97701. There is a parking area available for visitors.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Pilot Butte State Scenic Viewpoint using public transportation, first take a Klamath Falls Transit bus to the Klamath Falls Amtrak station. From there, catch an Amtrak bus to Bend, OR. Upon arrival in Bend, you can take the Bend Area Transit (BAT) Route 1, which stops near the scenic viewpoint. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as service may vary.   For cyclists, you can bike from Klamath Falls to Bend. Take OR-39 N, then merge onto US-97 N. The distance is approximately 70 miles and can take several hours, so be prepared with water and snacks. Once in Bend, navigate to Pilot Butte State Scenic Viewpoint at 1310 NE Hwy 20.
