If you are traveling by car, begin your journey by heading east on Highway 14 from Portland. Continue on Highway 14 for approximately 50 miles until you reach the small town of Cook, WA. Turn onto Cook-Underwood Road, heading south. Follow this road for about 5 miles until you reach a small parking area at the trailhead for Spirit Falls. The parking area is unpaved, so be cautious if your vehicle is low to the ground. From the parking area, a short hike will lead you to the falls.

For those relying on public transportation, start by taking the Columbia Gorge Express from Portland to Hood River. This bus service runs regularly and provides a scenic route through the gorge. Once in Hood River, transfer to the Hood River County Transit (HRCT) bus service, which can take you to the town of Cook. From the drop-off point in Cook, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile along Cook-Underwood Road to reach the Spirit Falls trailhead. Note that the HRCT may have limited service hours, so check their schedule in advance.
