Getting There

Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Leh, the capital of Ladakh. Take the NH-1D highway and head towards Kargil. After approximately 200 km, you will reach the town of Kargil. From Kargil, continue on the same highway for about 120 km until you reach the junction at Skardu Road. Follow the Skardu Road for around 70 km, and it will lead you directly to Skardu. Once you arrive in Skardu, follow the signs for Airport Road, which is approximately 10 km from the town center. The airport is located at Airport Rd, Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan. Ensure your vehicle is well-prepared for high-altitude driving and check for any road conditions before departure.

Public Transportation (Bus)
For those opting for public transportation, you can take a bus from Leh to Skardu. Buses usually depart from the Leh Bus Station and the journey takes around 12-14 hours, depending on road conditions. The fare is approximately PKR 800-1200. Once you arrive at the Skardu bus terminal, you can take a local taxi or shared van to reach the airport, which is about 10 km away. Ensure to confirm the bus schedule in advance as it may vary seasonally.
