Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Rabaul, head south on the East New Britain Highway (also known as the Rabaul-Tokua Road). Continue for approximately 20 km until you reach the turnoff for Tokua. Turn right at the junction and continue for about 5 km towards Tokua. As you approach Tokua, look for signs directing you to Rapopo Plantation Resort. The resort is located directly on the coast and is well-marked.

• Public Transportation

  From Rabaul, you can take a public bus or a minibus heading towards Tokua. The fare is around PGK 10-15. Inform the driver that you are going to Rapopo Plantation Resort, and they will drop you off at the nearest point. After alighting, you may need to walk approximately 1-2 km toward the resort, following the coastal road. Look for directional signs along the way.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Rabaul or other nearby towns. The taxi fare to Rapopo Plantation Resort from Rabaul is approximately PGK 50-70, depending on negotiation with the driver. The taxi will take you directly to the resort, making it the most convenient option.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, cycling from Rabaul to Tokua is an option. Rent a bicycle in Rabaul and follow the East New Britain Highway. The distance is about 25 km, which can take around 1.5-2 hours depending on your cycling speed. Ensure you have water and sun protection as there's limited shade along the route.
