If you're already in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, begin by driving to the nearest major road, which is Route 80. Take Exit 310 to merge onto US-209 S toward Delaware Water Gap. Continue on US-209 S for approximately 3.5 miles until you reach the intersection with River Road. Turn left onto River Road. After about 1 mile, look for signs indicating the Council Rock Lookout trailhead. There is limited parking available at the trailhead.

Once you have parked at the Council Rock Lookout trailhead, you will need to hike approximately 0.5 miles along the designated trail to reach the lookout point. Follow the trail markers, which will guide you through the wooded area. The path can be steep in some sections, so wear sturdy shoes and bring water. The lookout offers scenic views of the Delaware River and surrounding hills.
