Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Bayfront District, head east towards the Bayfront Parkway. Follow the pedestrian path along the waterfront, enjoying views of the lake. Continue walking until you reach the intersection of East 2nd Street and the Bayfront Parkway. At this point, you will want to cross the Parkway safely at the designated crosswalk. After crossing, continue straight on East 2nd Street for about half a mile until you reach the entrance to Presque Isle State Park. Enter the park and follow the signs for the Presque Isle Bike Trail, which will lead you towards the Erie Waterworks Tower. The tower will be located along the bike trail, with clear signage directing you to this historical landmark.

• Bicycle Rental

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Bayfront District. Once you have your bike, head towards the Bayfront Parkway and join the bike path heading east. Follow the bike path along the waterfront and continue until you reach the entrance to Presque Isle State Park. Once inside the park, follow the Presque Isle Bike Trail, which will lead you directly to the Erie Waterworks Tower. Make sure to check the rental shop's hours and any rental fees, which typically range from $10 to $20 per hour.

  To access public transportation, locate the nearest bus stop in Bayfront District. You will need to take the Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority (EMTA) bus that heads towards Presque Isle State Park. Confirm the route number with the local transit schedule, as it may vary. Once you arrive at the park entrance, disembark and follow the pedestrian signs to the Presque Isle Bike Trail. It’s about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop to reach the Erie Waterworks Tower. Check the EMTA website for current fares, which are typically around $1.50 per ride.
