At the bus station, instead of taking a bus, follow the signs that indicate the trail towards Ollantaytambo. This trail is well-marked and will lead you through stunning landscapes. The hike to Ollantaytambo takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, so ensure you're prepared for a moderate trek. As you approach Ollantaytambo, keep an eye out for local signs pointing towards 'Pumamarca Ruins.'

Upon reaching Ollantaytambo, you can find local transport options like shared taxis or collective vans that travel to the Pumamarca area. Head to the central plaza where you will find various transport options. Confirm with the driver that they are going to the Pumamarca site. The ride takes about 20-30 minutes. You will be dropped off at a point near the entrance of the archaeological site.
