If you are driving from Urubamba, head northwest on Avenida Ferrocarril towards Lares. Continue on this road for approximately 30 kilometers. You'll pass through picturesque landscapes and may encounter some winding roads. Watch for signs pointing towards Lares. When you reach the town of Lares, continue straight until you find the road leading to R346+2J4, where Abra de Lares is located. Be prepared for a steep drive as you ascend to the Abra de Lares viewpoint.

Public Transportation
From Urubamba, take a colectivo (shared taxi) to Lares. The journey will take about 45 minutes to an hour. Once you arrive in Lares, you can either hire a local taxi to take you to Abra de Lares or, if you prefer to walk, head towards the R346 road, which leads you directly to Abra de Lares. The walk will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Make sure to carry water and wear comfortable shoes as the path can be steep.
