Getting There

Walking
From Bairro Alto, start at the Praça Luís de Camões, which is a central square in the neighborhood. Head southeast on Rua Garrett towards the Elevador da Glória. You'll want to walk down this street for about 5 minutes until you reach the elevator. The elevator is a funicular that can take you up the hill to Bairro Alto, but you can also choose to walk if you prefer. If you opt for the elevator, it costs about €3.50 one way. Once you exit the elevator, turn left onto Rua da Glória and then take a right onto Rua de São Pedro de Alcântara. Continue straight for about 10 minutes. You will eventually reach a fork in the road. Take the left path towards Miradouro de Santa Luzia. The scenic viewpoint is located at Largo de Santa Luzia, 1100-487 Lisboa, and offers a breathtaking view of the city and the river.

Public Transport (Tram)
From Bairro Alto, head to the nearest tram stop at Rua de São Paulo (you can ask locals or look for signage). Take Tram 28, which is a famous tram route in Lisbon. Ride the tram for approximately 10 minutes until you reach the stop for Miradouro de Santa Luzia. The ticket for the tram costs about €3.00 and can be purchased at the stop. Once you disembark, the miradouro is just a short walk away. Follow the signs directing you to Largo de Santa Luzia, where you can enjoy the views.

For a more scenic route, you can walk through the picturesque streets of Bairro Alto. Start at Praça Luís de Camões, and head towards Rua do Carmo. Walk down this street until you reach the steps of Escadaria da Glória. Ascend the steps and take in the street art along the way.
