    Start at the Ponte de Lima city center, near the Ponte Romana (Roman Bridge). From the bridge, head northeast along Avenida dos Combatentes da Grande Guerra. Continue walking straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Rua de São João. Follow this road as it curves left and turns into Rua da Alegria. Keep walking until you reach the intersection with Rua do Comércio, then turn right. Continue straight until you reach the bus station, where you can catch a bus to Viana do Castelo. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes, and the bus stops near the city center of Viana do Castelo. Once you arrive, head towards the riverfront (Cais da Ribeira) and follow the river upstream until you reach the Fortaleza de Santiago da Barra, which is located on a hill overlooking the river.
