If you are near the Livraria Lello bookstore, start by heading southeast on Rua das Carmelitas towards Rua da Trindade. Continue straight until you reach the end of the street, where it will intersect with Rua dos Clérigos. Turn left onto Rua dos Clérigos and walk until you reach Praça de Carlos Alberto. At this square, you will see a large statue in the center. From here, continue straight onto Rua de 31 de Janeiro. After a short walk, you will arrive at Praça da Batalha, where the Church of Saint Ildefonso is located.
