Walking
If you are in the central area of Sintra, head toward the Sintra train station. From the station, take the train to Lisbon. Once you arrive at the Rossio station in Lisbon, exit the station and walk towards Praça dos Restauradores. From there, take the Metro Blue Line (Linha Azul) at the Restauradores station towards Santa Apolónia. Get off at the Santa Apolónia station. After exiting the station, head east on Rua da Cruz do Trânsito, then turn right onto Rua da Alfândega. Continue straight until you reach the Alfama district. Follow the signs to Escadinhas de São Miguel, which is located in the heart of Alfama. It's a steep climb, so take your time enjoying the beautiful views along the way.

From the Sintra town center, take the Scotturb bus route 434 towards the Sintra train station. Once you arrive at the station, board a train to Lisbon. After reaching Rossio station, walk to the nearby Praça dos Restauradores. From there, catch the Metro Blue Line at Restauradores towards Santa Apolónia. Disembark at Santa Apolónia station. Upon exiting, walk east on Rua da Cruz do Trânsito and turn right onto Rua da Alfândega. Continue to the Alfama neighborhood and follow the signs to Escadinhas de São Miguel.
