Getting There

  • Bus

    From East Greenwich, walk to the nearest bus stop on Main Street. Take the RIPTA Route 60 bus towards Newport. Stay on the bus for approximately 30-40 minutes until you reach the Newport Gateway Center. Once you arrive, transfer to the Route 67 bus towards Touro Street. Get off at the Touro Street stop. From there, walk about 5 minutes east on Touro Street, and you will arrive at Touro Synagogue National Historic Site at 85 Touro St.

  • Bicycle

    If you're renting a bicycle in East Greenwich, head towards the East Greenwich Town Beach on First Avenue. From there, take the bike path along the water, which will connect to the scenic Ocean Drive in Newport. Follow Ocean Drive until you reach Memorial Boulevard. Continue straight onto Touro Street. The Touro Synagogue will be on your left at 85 Touro St. The entire trip should take about 45 minutes to 1 hour.

  • Walking

    If you prefer to walk, start from the center of East Greenwich at the Town Hall. Head south on Main Street towards Greenwich Avenue. Turn left onto Greenwich Avenue and continue until you reach the bus stop. From there, you can take the RIPTA Route 60 bus to Newport as described above. If you feel adventurous and want to walk the entire way, follow Main Street south, then turn right onto Route 1A and continue directly to Newport. This is a longer walk, approximately 6 miles, and will take around 2 hours.
