Car
If you're driving from Narragansett Beach, start by heading north on Ocean Road (Route 1A) towards Highway 1. Continue on Route 1 North for approximately 9 miles. Take the exit for Route 138 East towards Newport. Follow Route 138 until you reach the Jamestown Bridge, which will take you over to Newport. Once in Newport, continue on Route 138, which becomes Memorial Boulevard. Turn right onto Thames Street, and the Museum of Newport History & Shop will be located on your right at 127 Thames St. Look for nearby parking options as you approach the museum.

To reach the Museum of Newport History & Shop using public transportation, start by taking the RIPTA bus number 14 from Narragansett Beach. Ride the bus until you reach the Newport Gateway Center. From the Newport Gateway Center, transfer to the trolley service or walk along America's Cup Avenue towards Thames Street. Continue on Thames Street until you arrive at 127 Thames St. The museum is located on your right. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the return trip.
