Getting There

  • Car

    From Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge, exit the refuge and turn left onto Route 1 South (also known as Kingstown Road). Continue on Route 1 for approximately 5 miles. Take the exit for Route 138 East towards Newport. Merge onto Route 138 and continue for about 8 miles. As you approach Middletown, take the exit for Sachuest Point Road. Turn left onto Sachuest Point Road, and the Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge will be on your right at 769 Sachuest Point Rd, Middletown, RI 02842.

  • Public Transportation

    If you are taking public transportation, you will first need to get to a bus stop that services the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA). From Trustom Pond, walk to the nearest bus stop on Route 1 (about 1 mile). Take the #64 bus towards Newport. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the bus stop near the intersection of Route 138 and Sachuest Point Road. From there, it is about a 1-mile walk to Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge.
