Continue on Old Post Road for about 3 miles until you reach Fort Ninigret Road. Turn left onto Fort Ninigret Road and drive for about 0.5 miles. The entrance to Fort Ninigret will be on your left at 73 Fort Ninigret Rd, Charlestown, RI 02813. Parking is available on-site.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, you can take the RIPTA (Rhode Island Public Transit Authority) bus service. Board the bus route 66 (South County) from any major stop in Washington County. Request to get off at the nearest stop to Old Post Road. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile south on Old Post Road to reach Fort Ninigret. Alternatively, consider using a rideshare service for the last mile if you have luggage or prefer not to walk.
Bicycle
For those looking to cycle, there are bike paths available in the area. Begin your ride from the center of Charlestown and head towards Old Post Road. Follow the same route as the driving directions, and be cautious of traffic as you approach the turn onto Fort Ninigret Road. The ride is approximately 3.5 miles from the center of town.

If you are staying in a nearby hotel or inn, you may choose to walk. Plan your route to Old Post Road and proceed south. It is advisable to check the distance beforehand, as walking from central Charlestown to Fort Ninigret is about a 1.5 to 2-mile trek, depending on your starting point. Ensure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.
