Getting There

  • Driving

    From Yawgoo Valley Ski Area & Water Park, head southeast on Yawgoo Valley Rd toward RI-138 E. Turn right onto RI-138 E and continue for about 6.5 miles. Take the exit toward RI-214 S/Middletown. Merge onto RI-214 S (East Main Rd) and continue for 1 mile. Turn left onto Sachuest Point Rd. The Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge will be on your left at 769 Sachuest Point Rd, Middletown, RI 02842. Parking is available on-site.

    From Yawgoo Valley Ski Area & Water Park, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to the nearest public transportation hub, which is in Newport. Once in Newport, you can take the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) Bus #67 (East Bay) towards East Bay. Get off at the nearest stop to Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge. Note that the bus service may not be direct, and a short walk may be required. Check RIPTA schedules for current fares and routes.
