Walking
From the center of Gisenyi, head towards the main road (A1) and walk along it in the direction of the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo. After about 1 kilometer, you will reach the lakeshore. Follow the path along the lake; you will see the beautiful views of Lake Kivu. Continue along the lakeside path for approximately 500 meters until you reach a popular gathering area by the water, which is often frequented by tourists.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Gisenyi. Start from the town center and cycle towards the main road (A1). Follow the road heading towards the border for about 1 kilometer. Once you reach the lakeshore, switch to a path that runs parallel to the lake. This scenic ride will take you about 10-15 minutes, depending on your pace. You can stop at various points along the lakeside to enjoy the views and take pictures.

Find a moto-taxi (also known as a motorcycle taxi) in Gisenyi by heading to a nearby moto-taxi stand or hailing one on the street. Tell the driver you want to go to Lake Kivu.
