Car
From the main entrance of Gishwati-Mukura National Park, head southeast on the main road. Continue driving for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the junction. At the junction, turn left and drive for another 5 kilometers. You will notice a sign pointing towards Icyi. Follow the sign and take the dirt road on your right. This road will take you directly to Icyi, which is located at coordinates -2.0019065, 29.3236517. Make sure to drive carefully as the road can be bumpy.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, start by taking a bus from the nearest town to the park. Buses frequently depart from Rubavu or Musanze. Ask the driver to drop you off at Gishwati-Mukura National Park's main entrance. From there, you will need to hire a motorcycle taxi (known locally as 'moto') to take you to Icyi. The ride will take about 30 minutes. Be sure to agree on the fare before starting your journey, which should cost around 1,500 Rwandan Francs. Ensure that the moto driver is familiar with Icyi to avoid any confusion.
