Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, start from the main entrance of Gishwati-Mukura National Park. Follow the park road towards the northern section. Continue driving for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the junction marked with a sign for the Agasumo ka Mukinga waterfalls. Turn right at the junction and follow the narrow dirt road for about 2 kilometers until you arrive at the designated parking area near the waterfall trailhead. There may be a small parking fee of around 2,000 RWF.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Agasumo ka Mukinga waterfalls using public transport, take a bus from Kigali to Ruhengeri. Once you arrive in Ruhengeri, you can catch a local moto-taxi to the main entrance of Gishwati-Mukura National Park. The moto-taxi ride will cost around 5,000 RWF. After reaching the park entrance, you can either walk or hire a guide to take you to the waterfalls. Walking from the entrance to the waterfalls will take around 1 to 1.5 hours depending on your pace.
