Walking
From the center of Karongi, head south towards the main road that leads towards Rutsiro. You will walk along the lakefront for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction with the main road. Turn right at the junction and continue walking for another 3 kilometers until you reach the small village of Gitesi. Here, you can ask locals for directions to Kopakama coffee washing station, as it is a well-known spot in the area.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Karongi. Start your ride from the town center heading south towards the main road. After about 1.5 kilometers along the lake, you will come to a junction. Turn right onto the main road and cycle for approximately 3 kilometers until you reach Gitesi village. In Gitesi, locals can guide you to the Kopakama coffee washing station, which is only a short distance from the village.

Motorcycle Taxi (Moto)
In Karongi, find a motorcycle taxi (moto) stand, which are usually located near the center. Inform the driver that you want to go to Kopakama coffee washing station in Rutsiro. The ride should take about 15-20 minutes. The driver will take you towards the main road and you can ask them to drop you off at Gitesi village, where you can find the washing station with the help of locals.
