History of Eastern Province

The Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia was a significant area for ancient trade routes, particularly the incense trade. Traders transported valuable goods like frankincense and myrrh from southern Arabia and the Indian subcontinent through the Arabian Peninsula to Mesopotamia and the Levant.
The Dilmun Civilization, which thrived around 3000 BCE, is one of the most ancient civilizations associated with the Eastern Province.
