Experience Whitney Preserve

Getting There

  • Car

    From the center of Angostura Recreation Area, head south on SD-71 for approximately 4 miles. At the intersection with US-18, turn left (east) and continue for about 2 miles. Look for Unnamed Rd on your right. Turn onto Unnamed Rd and follow it for about 1 mile. Whitney Preserve will be on your left. There is no entrance fee, but be sure to check the hours of operation as it is open daily from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

    Currently, public transportation options are limited in this rural area. However, you can take a bus from Hot Springs to Angostura Recreation Area. Once you arrive in Angostura, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to travel to Whitney Preserve.
