From downtown Rapid City, head to the nearest bus stop and catch the 7B route, which travels towards Keystone. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the latest departure times. The bus ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Keystone, disembark at the Keystone stop. Mount Rushmore National Memorial is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop. Head west on Highway 16A, follow the signs towards Mount Rushmore, and you will see the entrance to the memorial on your left.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Rapid City. Start your journey by heading west on Saint Joseph Street until you reach Canyon Lake Drive. Continue on Canyon Lake Drive, which will eventually lead you to Highway 16. Follow the highway towards Keystone. The ride is approximately 30-40 minutes, but remember to stay cautious of traffic. Once you reach Keystone, Mount Rushmore is a short 1-mile ride from the town center.

For a more manageable option, walk to the bus station in downtown Rapid City and take a bus to Keystone, then walk to Mount Rushmore from there.
