Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving, enter the following address into your GPS: P.º de Colombia, 2, Retiro, 28016 Madrid. From the center of Madrid (Plaza de Cibeles), head southeast on Calle de Alcalá, then turn left onto Calle de O'Donnell. Continue straight until you reach the Retiro Park entrance. Look for signage leading to the Great Pond, which is located within the park. Note that parking is limited around the park, so look for nearby parking options, which may incur fees.

  • Metro

    To reach the Great Pond using public transportation, take Line 2 (Red Line) of the Madrid Metro towards Cuatro Caminos. Get off at the Retiro Station. After exiting the station, walk towards the park entrance on Calle de O'Donnell. Once you're inside Retiro Park, follow the paths leading to the Great Pond, which is located at the southwest corner of the park. The metro ticket costs approximately €1.50.

    You can also take bus line 20, 26, or 163 to reach the Great Pond. Board the bus at any major stop in Madrid and get off at the 'Puerta de Alcalá' stop.
