Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in the Salamanca neighborhood, you can easily walk to the Monument to Alfonso XII located in Parque del Retiro. Start by heading towards the nearest Metro station, 'Serrano' (Line 4). From there, walk south along 'Calle de Serrano' until you reach 'Plaza de la Independencia.' The monument is situated at the eastern edge of El Retiro Park, right next to the large pond. It should take you about 20-30 minutes to walk there, depending on your starting point.

  To reach the Monument to Alfonso XII via the Metro, make your way to the nearest station, 'Serrano' (Line 4). Take the train in the direction of 'Argüelles' and transfer at 'Goya' station to Line 2 (the red line). From 'Goya,' take the train towards 'Cuatro Caminos' and get off at 'Retiro' station.
