Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Malasaña, head south on Calle de Espíritu Santo. Continue straight until you reach Plaza de San Ildefonso. From there, turn left onto Calle del Pez and continue until you reach Calle de Bailén. Turn right onto Calle de Bailén, and you will find the Royal Palace of Madrid at C. de Bailén, s/n. The walk will take approximately 15-20 minutes.

  • Metro

    If you prefer taking the metro, walk to the nearest metro station, Tribunal (Line 1). Take the train towards Valdecarros and change at Gran Vía to Line 5 towards Casa de Campo. Get off at Opera station. Exit the station and walk towards Calle de Bailén; the Royal Palace will be a short 5-minute walk from there. The metro ticket costs around €1.50.

  • Bus

    You can also take a bus from Malasaña. Find the nearest bus stop and take bus number 44 towards 'Marques de Vadillo'. Get off at the stop 'Plaza de Oriente'. From there, it's only a 5-minute walk to the Royal Palace. A single bus ticket costs €1.50.
