Getting There

    Once you are inside Horton Plains National Park, head towards the entrance of the park. From the visitor center, take the main trail that leads you towards the Kirigalpoththa Trail Head. The trail is well-marked, and you will follow signs indicating the direction to Kirigalpoththa. It’s approximately a 3.5 km walk from the visitor center, so ensure you wear comfortable walking shoes and carry water.

    If you have access to a private vehicle within the Horton Plains National Park, simply drive towards the Kirigalpoththa Trail Head. Follow the park's main road and look for signs directing you to Kirigalpoththa. The trailhead is located near the main road, and there is usually parking available nearby.
