Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Kandy City Center Mall, exit the mall and head northwest on Dalada Veediya. Continue straight for about 400 meters until you reach the intersection with the Temple of the Tooth on your left. Keep walking straight for another 200 meters, and you will see the entrance to the Open Air Museum on your right, just past the main temple.

    If you are near the Kandy Railway Station, exit the station and head northeast on the A26 road. Walk for about 1.5 kilometers, following the road as it curves. Look for signs towards the Temple of the Tooth and keep walking towards it. Just after passing the Temple, turn right and walk about 100 meters to reach the Open Air Museum.

    If you are at the Kandy Lake, head southeast towards the Temple of the Tooth. Walk along the lake's edge, enjoying the view. After approximately 800 meters, you will reach the temple complex. Continue past the temple and take the first right, walking another 100 meters to arrive at the Open Air Museum.

    From the Kandy Bus Station, exit and head east on the A26 road. Walk for around 1 kilometer until you reach the junction with the Temple of the Tooth on your left. After visiting the temple, proceed straight ahead for about 200 meters, and you will find the Open Air Museum on your right.
