Walking
From the center of Nuwara Eliya, start at the Victoria Park entrance. Head south on the main road, passing the Nuwara Eliya Post Office. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction with the A5 highway. Take a left onto the A5 highway towards Ella. After approximately 2 kilometers, you will find a bus stop near the Seetha Amman Temple. This is a good point to rest or grab a quick snack before continuing your journey.

At the bus stop near the Seetha Amman Temple, look for a bus heading to Ella. Buses run frequently, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Ella, get off at the Ella bus station. From the bus station, walk towards the main road and follow the signs for 'Ella Rock.' It's approximately a 2 km walk from the bus station to the Ella Rock Rest Area. Follow the road until you see a sign indicating the trailhead for Ella Rock. This is where your hike to the rest area begins.

From the Ella Rock trailhead, begin your hike. The path is well-marked and takes about 1-2 hours depending on your pace. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings as you ascend.
