Walking
From the Polonnaruwa Archaeological Museum, head southeast on New Town Road. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the junction with the A11 highway. At the junction, turn left onto the A11 highway. Walk approximately 1.5 kilometers along the A11 until you reach the entrance to the Parakrama Samudraya reservoir on your right. The entrance is marked with a sign. After entering, follow the pathway leading towards the water. The Parakrama Samudraya View Point is located on a small elevation near the water's edge where you can enjoy a panoramic view.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Polonnaruwa. Start from the Polonnaruwa bus station and head east on New Town Road. After about 1 kilometer, turn left onto the A11 highway.
