If you are starting from the Polonnaruwa Archaeological Museum, head east on the Main Street (Medirigiriya Road). After about 500 meters, you will reach a junction. Turn left onto the road that leads towards the Gal Vihara area. Continue straight for approximately 1 kilometer until you see a signboard for the Royal Palace of King Maha Parakramabahu on your right. The palace is located just off the main road.
