If you are traveling by car from any area in Ruhuna, start by heading north on the A2 highway. Follow the signs toward Kandy. After approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, you will reach Rambukkana. Look for signs that indicate the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. The orphanage is located off the A1 road, and you will need to take a left turn after crossing the bridge over the river. The entrance is well-marked.

For public transportation, locate a bus station in Ruhuna that has services to Kandy. Board a bus that is heading towards Kandy and inform the conductor that you want to get off at Rambukkana. The bus ride will take about 1 to 1.5 hours. The tuk-tuk ride will cost around 200-300 LKR.
