If you're driving from Tangalle, head south on the A2 highway towards Hambantota. After around 18 km, take a left onto the Hungama Gurupokuna Road. Continue for about 5 km until you reach the Kalametiya Lagoon Bird Sanctuary & Wetland Park, located at Mahesh M Jayasooriya, 122/26, Hungama Gurupokuna Road, Kalametiya, Tangalle 82120. Keep an eye out for the signs along the way.

By Public Transport (Bus)
From Tangalle bus station, take a bus heading towards Hambantota. Make sure to inform the bus conductor that you wish to get off at Kalametiya. The bus will drop you near the entrance to the sanctuary. The total journey takes approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic and stops. Bus fare is usually around 50 LKR. From the bus stop, it is a short walk (about 1 km) to reach the sanctuary.

For a more convenient option, you can hire a tuk-tuk from Tangalle to Kalametiya Lagoon Bird Sanctuary & Wetland Park. The ride takes approximately 20-30 minutes. Be sure to negotiate the fare beforehand; expect to pay around 600-800 LKR for a one-way trip, depending on the time of day and your bargaining skills.

If you're feeling adventurous, consider renting a bicycle in Tangalle. Follow the A2 highway south towards Hambantota, then take a left onto Hungama Gurupokuna Road.
