Walking
From the center of Unawatuna, head north towards the Galle Road (A2). Once you reach the Galle Road, turn right and continue walking until you reach the junction. Look for signs pointing to Polgampola or Thambadola Ella. Follow the road signs; the distance is approximately 3 km. Walk along the road, and you will pass by local shops and eateries. Keep an eye out for the Polgampola Waterfall signs on your left. The waterfall is located about 500 meters off the main road, and you may need to take a small footpath leading towards the sound of the water.

Tuk-tuk
From your accommodation in Unawatuna, you can easily find a tuk-tuk by asking at the reception or hailing one on the street. Tell the driver that you want to go to Polgampola Waterfall (Thambadola Ella). The journey will take about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. The driver should take you along the Galle Road (A2) and then turn towards Polgampola. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your trip.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Unawatuna. Start by heading towards Galle Road (A2) and turn right. Continue for approximately 3 km until you reach the junction leading to Polgampola. Follow the signs for the waterfall. The last stretch will involve a bit of uphill cycling, so be prepared for some physical effort as you reach the entrance of the waterfall.
