Getting There

Walking
From the Unawatuna beach area, head towards the main road (Galle-Matara Road). You can easily find this by walking towards the direction of the main shops. Once you reach the main road, turn left and walk along the road, passing by several small shops and restaurants. Continue walking for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction at Wella Devala. Here, turn right onto Weherahena Road. The temple will be approximately 1 kilometer ahead on your left. Look for the large entrance gates of Weherahena Poorwarama Rajamaha Viharaya.

Tuk-Tuk
You can hire a tuk-tuk from any location in Unawatuna. Just tell the driver 'Weherahena Temple' or show them the address: 'Weherahena Rd, Matara'. The journey should take around 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. The tuk-tuk will drop you off right at the entrance of the temple.

Public Transport (Bus)
From Unawatuna, walk to the nearest bus stop on the Galle-Matara Road. Catch a bus heading towards Matara. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Inform the conductor that you would like to get off at Weherahena. Once you get off, walk back a short distance towards the temple entrance which will be on your right.
