From Stockholm Central Station, take the commuter train towards Mariefred. Look for the SL signs and purchase a ticket to Mariefred either at the ticket machines or online through the SL app. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at Mariefred station, exit the train station and walk straight onto the main street. Gripsholm Castle is about a 10-minute walk from the station. Follow the signs towards the castle, and you should see it ahead.

From Stockholm Central Station, head to the nearby Cityterminalen bus terminal. Look for a bus heading to Mariefred; you can check the schedule on the SL website or at the terminal. Purchase your ticket from the driver or at a ticket machine. The bus journey will take about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once you arrive at Mariefred, follow the signs towards Gripsholm Castle, which is approximately a 15-minute walk from the bus stop.

Take a ferry from Slussen to the town of Strängnäs. The ferry ride takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive in Strängnäs, walk to the Strängnäs train station (about 15 minutes). From there, take the train to Mariefred. The train ride takes about 10 minutes. After arriving at Mariefred station, exit and walk for about 10 minutes to reach Gripsholm Castle.
