From Locarno, walk to the Locarno train station, which is located at Via della Stazione 2. Take a regional train towards Varenna-Esino. The journey will take about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Varenna-Esino station, exit the station and follow the signs to the ferry terminal.

Once at the ferry terminal, purchase a ticket for the ferry heading to Varenna. The ferry ride will take around 15 minutes. When you arrive in Varenna, disembark and head towards the town center.

From the ferry dock in Varenna, walk straight along the lakeside promenade until you reach the main square. Continue up the steps towards the church. Chiesa di San Giorgio is located at Contrada della Filanda, 25, just a short walk from the main square, approximately 10 minutes on foot.
