Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Arusha, head east on Boma Road towards the Clock Tower roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Sokoine Road. Continue straight for about 1.5 km until you reach the junction with Old Moshi Road. Turn left onto Old Moshi Road and walk for another 1 km. You will come across the entrance to the Mount Meru National Park on your left. The entrance is well-marked, and you may need to pay a small fee to enter the park.

  • Public Transport (Daladala)

    From the central market area in Arusha, locate the Daladala (minibus) station. Board a Daladala heading to Usa River or Meru. Be sure to confirm with the driver that the route goes to the base of Mount Meru. The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Get off at the Usa River stop. From there, ask locals for directions to the Mount Meru entrance; it is about a 20-minute walk from the Daladala drop-off point.

  • Bicycle Rental

    Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Arusha. Start your ride by heading towards Boma Road and follow the same route as walking directions. This will take you towards the Clock Tower roundabout and onto Sokoine Road, then Old Moshi Road. The ride should take about 30 minutes. Once you reach the Mount Meru National Park entrance, you can park your bicycle and begin your adventure.
