If you are driving from Karatu, take the B144 road towards Ngorongoro Crater. Continue on this road for about 30 kilometers until you reach the Ngorongoro Conservation Area gate. Ensure you have your entrance fees ready, as the cost is approximately $70 per person for non-residents. After passing through the gate, continue driving for about 20 kilometers along the road that winds through the Highlands. Look for signs pointing towards Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge; it’s located on your left just before you reach the crater rim. The total driving time from Karatu is approximately 1.5 hours.

Public Transportation (Matatu)
From Karatu, take a matatu (shared taxi) heading towards Ngorongoro. These are available at the main bus stand. The fare is usually around $10 per person. Inform the driver that you want to stop at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge. The journey will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. You will be dropped off at the lodge entrance, and from there, it's a short walk to the lodge itself.
