Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Old Fort, exit towards the main road (Mizingani Road). Turn left and walk along this road for about 5 minutes. You will pass by various shops and local vendors. Keep an eye out for the signs pointing towards the House of Wonders. After approximately 400 meters, you will see the House of Wonders on your right, situated between the Old Fort and the Palace Museum.

    If you prefer cycling, there are local bicycle rental shops near the Old Fort. Rent a bike for a small fee (usually around 5,000 TZS for a couple of hours). Once you have your bicycle, head towards Mizingani Road, and pedal along the waterfront. The ride will only take about 3 minutes. The House of Wonders will be on your right. Make sure to return the bike to the rental shop before heading inside.
