Car
If you are driving from the city center of Chiang Mai, start by heading south on the Superhighway (Route 11). Continue for about 10 kilometers until you reach the Hang Dong exit. Take the exit and follow the signs for Hang Dong. Once in the Hang Dong area, keep an eye out for local signage to guide you towards Takkatan Cave. After about 15 minutes of driving through Hang Dong, you will arrive at QRG9+CJ3, the location of Takkatan Cave. Be prepared for some small local roads, and ensure you have a GPS or map app to assist with navigation.

Public Transportation (Songthaew)
From the Old City of Chiang Mai, head to the main road and look for a Songthaew (red truck taxi). You will need to negotiate your fare with the driver, which should be around 30-50 THB per person. Request to be dropped off at the Hang Dong area, specifically near QRG9+CJ3, where Takkatan Cave is located. The journey may take approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive, you might need to walk a short distance to reach the cave entrance.

Public Bus
Take a public bus from the Chiang Mai Arcade Bus Station headed towards Hang Dong. The fare will typically be around 20-30 THB. Inform the bus driver that you want to get off at Hang Dong, near Takkatan Cave. The bus ride may take about 45 minutes to an hour. After getting off, you can either walk or take a local tuk-tuk to cover the remaining distance to QRG9+CJ3, where Takkatan Cave is located.
