Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from the main areas within Doi Inthanon National Park, head towards the Doi Inthanon Visitor Center. From there, take Highway 108 southbound towards Mae Chaem. Continue for approximately 30 kilometers, then turn left onto Route 1009. Follow this road for about 10 kilometers until you reach Tambon Chang Keung. Your destination, BEES - Burm And Emily's Elephant Sanctuary, will be located at 34 Tambon Chang Keung, Mae Chaem District, Chiang Mai 50270 on your right.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach BEES from the Doi Inthanon Visitor Center using public transportation, take a local songthaew (a shared taxi) heading towards Mae Chaem. Make sure to communicate your destination to the driver. The ride will take approximately 45 minutes to an hour. Once you arrive in Mae Chaem, you may need to hire a motorcycle taxi or walk for about 2 kilometers to reach the sanctuary, located at 34 Tambon Chang Keung. Be prepared for a fare of around 50-100 THB for the songthaew and 20-50 THB for the motorcycle taxi.

  • Bicycle

    For the more adventurous, cycling to BEES is an option. From the Doi Inthanon Visitor Center, follow the same route as if you were driving. The journey is about 40 kilometers and can take around 2-3 hours, depending on your cycling speed. Be aware of the terrain as it can be hilly. Make sure to stay hydrated and take breaks as needed.
