Walking
If you are near the Hagia Sophia, exit the building and head directly towards the large open area in front of it. As you walk straight, you will see the Sultanahmet Square ahead. The square is situated between the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, making it a central spot in the area.

From the Blue Mosque, exit the mosque and walk towards the large square in front. The square is just a few steps away. You can enjoy the beautiful gardens and fountains as you approach Sultanahmet Square.

Public Transport (Tram)
If you are coming from the nearest tram station, Sultanahmet Tram Station, exit the tram and walk towards the exit. Once you are out of the station, you will find yourself at the edge of Sultanahmet Square. The tram fare is approximately 15 Turkish Lira (as of October 2023).

From the Basilica Cistern, exit and head towards the exit stairs. Once you are outside, turn right and walk straight for about 5 minutes. You will reach Sultanahmet Square, which will be on your left, flanked by the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque.
