Getting There

  • Car

    From the center of Kibale National Park, head towards the town of Katunguru. Drive on the main road passing through the park, keeping an eye out for wildlife. The drive should take about 30-45 minutes depending on traffic and wildlife sightings. Once you reach Katunguru, look for signs directing you to Kazinga Channel. The entrance will be along V246 road marked by local signage. Be prepared for possible entry fees into the channel area at the entrance.

    From Kibale National Park, you will need to take a taxi or a shared minibus to Katunguru. These typically leave from designated taxi parks in nearby towns. The fare should be around 10,000-20,000 UGX. Once in Katunguru, you can hire a boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) or a local taxi to take you directly to Kazinga Channel. Ensure to negotiate the fare beforehand, which could be about 5,000-10,000 UGX for the short ride.
