Getting There

Car
From the main park entrance at the Mweya Peninsula, head south towards the Katunguru town. Follow the signs for 'Katwe' which will guide you to the Katwe Explosion Craters Track. The journey is approximately 20 kilometers and takes about 30 minutes. As you approach the Katwe area, you will see signs that guide you to the craters. Once you reach the VW7H+X78 location in Kabatoro, look for the entrance to the craters track.

Public Transportation
First, take a matatu (shared taxi) from Mweya Peninsula to Katunguru town. This will cost around 5,000 UGX and takes about 30 minutes. Once in Katunguru, hire a local boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) to take you directly to the Katwe Explosion Craters Track. The boda-boda ride will cost approximately 10,000 UGX and will take an additional 15-20 minutes. Ensure to negotiate the fare before your journey.
