Car
Start by driving from your accommodation in Rwenzori Mountains National Park towards Fort Portal. Take the main road leading out of the park and follow the signs to Fort Portal. The drive will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic and road conditions. Once you reach Fort Portal, follow the signs to Kibale National Park. You will find THE BIRD COMPANY located along the Fortportal-Kamwenge road. Ensure you have enough fuel for the trip, and it’s advisable to check your vehicle’s condition before setting out.

Public Transportation
If you prefer public transport, head to the nearest bus terminal in Rwenzori Mountains National Park. Board a matatu or bus heading to Fort Portal. The journey will take around 2 to 3 hours. Once you arrive in Fort Portal, you can either take a boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) or walk to Kibale National Park, where THE BIRD COMPANY is situated along the Fortportal-Kamwenge road. Be sure to ask the driver to drop you off at Kibale National Park or near the birding site to save time.

Boda-Boda
Once you are in Fort Portal, you can hire a boda-boda to take you directly to THE BIRD COMPANY. This is a convenient option if you have limited time. Negotiate the fare with the driver before starting your journey. It should cost you between 10,000 - 20,000 UGX depending on your negotiation skills and distance. The ride will take about 15-20 minutes.
