Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from Aberdeen, take the A96 towards Inverurie. After about 12 miles, take the exit for the A947 towards Oldmeldrum. Continue for approximately 6 miles. When you reach the roundabout at Oldmeldrum, take the second exit onto the A96. Follow the A96 for about 3 miles, then turn left onto the B992 towards Sauchen. Castle Fraser will be located on your right-hand side after about 1 mile. There is free parking available on-site.

    To reach Castle Fraser by public transport, start by taking a train from Aberdeen to Inverurie. Trains run frequently and the journey takes about 20 minutes. Once in Inverurie, you can catch the 37 or 38 bus towards Oldmeldrum. Get off at the Sauchen (Hall) stop. From there, it is a short 15-minute walk to Castle Fraser. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance as they may vary. The total cost for the train and bus might be around £10-£15.
